ShowKontrolMANUAL

Learning Base

Phone, tablet and Stream Deck

Beginner · 10 min

Show the decks and cue list on any browser on the network, control the show from a phone, and add a Stream Deck.

1. Switch on the web server#

Utility → Remote → Web Server. The address appears under Status, for example http://10.0.0.5:8090/. Scan to Open shows it as a QR code.

Any browser on the network now has:

The web server runs alongside ShowKontrol, so more viewers or slow Wi-Fi can't slow the show down.

2. Allow control (optional)#

Switch on Allow Remote Control and set an Access Token. The REMOTE page then appears with buttons for every router input and matrix preset, controls for every node and app setting, and BYPASS / STOP / FIRE.

A device signs in once with the token and stays signed in. UTILITY → Sign Out ends it.

3. Push alerts to phones#

The Notify action (Application category) shows a card on every open web page. It can also push to phones through ntfy, which reaches a locked phone. Set it up in Utility → Web Server → Push Notifications, install the ntfy app, and subscribe to your topic. Send Test Notification checks both.

4. Add a Stream Deck#

Utility → Remote → Stream Deck → Install Stream Deck Plugin (needs Stream Deck 7.1 or newer). On the same Mac it pairs by itself. Drag ShowKontrol keys onto the deck: Deck, Next Cue, Router Input, Parameter, Bypass, Fire Node, Text…

A key that can't do its job says why for a moment: NO CONTROL, TOKEN?, NOT FOUND, BUSY.

For developers#

Everything the pages show is also a REST API under /api/v1: state, deck data, waveforms, settings and every node parameter.

curl http://10.0.0.5:8090/api/v1/state
